Preliminary Application for Regular Membership
As stated in the Constitution of the Huguenot Society of America (Article II, Section 1): "Any person above the age of eighteen years, whose religion is consonant with that of the Huguenots, shall be eligible for regular membership, provided he or she is a lineal descendant in the male or female line of a Huguenot who emigrated from France, and that such Huguenot émigré or one of his or her descendants in the same line either settled in what is now the United States of America or left France for countries other than America prior to the promulgation of the Edict of Toleration on November 28, 1787."
An applicant seeking Society membership must first complete a Preliminary Application [downloadable here]. All information must be completed, including the name of the Huguenot ancestor along with the names of current members who will propose and second the application. Note: If the applicant knows no current member of the Society, two letters of recommendation from community leaders or officers in a related patriotic society will be considered. Those wishing to join the Society without proving their genealogy are invited to join as an Assiciate with a letter of sponsorship.
The completed Preliminary Application, along with a check for the filing fee of $75.00, should be mailed to the following address :

When the Preliminary Application has been approved by the Membership Committee, the applicant will be recommended to the Council for approval and final application forms, in duplicate, will be sent with instructions for their execution.
Annual Dues
Resident: $75.00
Non-Resident (residing more than 100 miles from New York City): $40.00
Life Membership: $1500.00 (in lieu of annual dues)
